Lilac Grove (aka: Carolina Christmas) top done

Lilac Grove (80 x 96)

Finishing up the last of the Carolina Christmas---now Lilac Grove quilt didn't take quite an hour. I can't really call it Carolina Christmas, can I? Not with purples and greens! And I did change up the layout from Bonnie's original.... As I was sewing on the last of the borders this morning, the exact thoughts of "what am I going to call this?" were running through my mind. Purples and greens? {{shrug}}. The only thing I kept picturing was lilacs.....{{that, and Barney, the purple dinosaur! But.....nah....NOT going to go there!}}

I want to give a shout-out to Alycia (alyciaquilts) for guilting me into finishing it!!!! Her quilter's accountability 6/30 post was enough to push me into pulling my top out and just gettin' it done! THANKS ALYCIA!!!!! I bet you didn't even know you had that kind of power, did you!?!?!? ;0)

Oh and...I set a new Personal Record last month! FIFTY-SEVEN posts during the month of June. Yup--yup...DEFINITELY a new record! {{and really wondering who in their right mind out there actually read all 57 of them!?!?}}

SO...how 'bout a thumb's up??

Or maybe just a self-pat-on-the-back? ;0)

  1. Love the Lilac Grove! Now you make me want to tear apart my half finished mess from that mystery and try your layout! I'm stalled with that one still looking a satisfactory outcome :)

  2. LUUUVVVV IT!! I absolutely love purple and green! If you don't, I know where it would have a nice loving home to come to.;D ;D

    I defenitely wished that I had your energy! Holy Cow! You make me tired just reading about all that you do.

    On a side note, please don't get upset at what I did, but..... I know Sally from Grace Frames, and I had told her about this blog that I read, and that she had just gotten her frame ---blablabla, well it didn't have a stylis. She asked, "well, what did she use?" I told her. She laughed and got a bid kick out of it. She said that was one she hadn't heard before.
    So, you should send her a pic. She would love it.

    Happy stitching always.

  8. I love your blog Amy and I think I read all the June posts. I think I had your energy when I was your age, but now in my late 60s I've slowed down a bit.

  15. Just got back from my cruise and had to catch up on the last week of posts. I'm always amazed at how much you get done while I am keeping up on a daily basis, you have no idea how mind boggling it can be to read all in one sitting! Congratulations on getting so much done. The too good to cut quilt is absolutely stunning. I got such a kick out of the video you posted! I'll have to figure out how to make one of those now. Love the binding tutorial, and watching Cassie quilt just makes my heart smile. I've got a couple of loads of laundry to catch up on and I'll go off and sew something. I am feeling a bit behind the curve right now. It's Saturday today, right?
