This is now officially Hostess with Heart (will be roughly 64"x84"), and the other quilt will be called With Heart unless inspired by a different name. In the past 2 hours, the center has been pieced; one set of borders attached; and four corner blocks pieced.
The final top/bottom border has been cut, but I just COULDN'T give myself another 15-20 minutes to finish it up. I'm kinda tuckered out, believe it or not.
So.....6 hours in and the quilt top is ALMOST pieced!!!! ;0) Knew I could do it. All you quilters out there can determine that this is a quick-n-easy pattern. Really! All squares and rectangles; yet simple elegance with the right fabrics.
I need the border fabric to grow on me; At the quilt shop I chose not to go "DEEP BURGUNDY" or "DARK BROWN", so Deb found this lovely light tan/creme that ties all the other fabrics together so nicely.
The sun is almost down; still HOT and MUGGY outside, but I'm thinking of heading outside with Cassie to throw the softball around and swing a few bats. Maybe even a walk after sitting all day!?!???? THAT could be the ticket :0)
Happy Tuesday night.
Day 2 of summer vacation......hhmmmmm......off to a GREAT start!!! :D)
You are amazing! I can't believe how much you get done. I can only do that much in my dreams. Even if I wanted to, my neck wouldn't let me spend 6 hours straight sewing.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the burgundy in this second quilt!
That will teach me to go a whole day without checking e-mail. Quilt looks great -- again. Glad the colors are getting sorted out.
ReplyDeleteThat has gone together so quickly, and looks fabulous
