We put the sun to bed

{{5 minutes later}}

Some other "views" of the evening.......

I call this one: "Karate Kid meets Fish Troller"

And this one: "Work is done; I may now enjoy!"

Before we headed out, we each enjoyed a fresh-from-the-garden meal of lettuce, cucumbers, peas, green beans. My plate was a bit too green, so I added a handful of raspberries.

And YES, I did finish de-papering all 70-something string blocks AND cutting off the dogears from the HSTs.

  1. Sounds like a nice evening. A little bit of (fun) work and some sun and fresh air. A great way to enjoy summer!

  2. Isn't it satisfying to be able to make a meal with produce from the garden? Yesterday all I had to add was tomatoes and celery for our salad at lunchtime, and then in the evening we had potatoes, chard and french beans all from the garden with our chicken.

  4. I just love reading your posts...so many things made me smile. I love that you changed your meal plan because of the colour of the items on the plate!
    And I love that you have one of Bonnie's mystery quilts on your boat to snuggle up with. I love that ultimate relaxation photo of you...reading, working on quilt blocks, having a drink and enjoying time on the water with your DH...that is what life is about!

  5. I'm with Kathy, when I saw the picture of you under the OC quilt, drinking a beer, eating cookies and reading Harry Potter on a boat, I just had to smile! Looks like you are enjoying your last few child free hours.

  6. Looks like a healthy good for you day as long as you remembered the sun screen. My two favorite tasks, (not really) tearing off the papers, and cutting off the dog ears.
