Another top completed that can be added to my "Tops Done" list on the side bar.
And then, since Alycia sent some quilting mojo my way, I figured I'd actually spend some time finishing up the quilt that has been on my frame for the past month. This was from a mystery by Mystery Quilts 4 Military, mystery #24. Started: January 11, 2011. Hm.....wonder how long it'll take me to get the binding and label on this one :\ For now, my school work is calling...
Both are looking good! Glad some mojo came your way! Love the borders as always you do great work!
ReplyDeleteI really love the Orca Bay. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about the orange, but it really makes it pop.. great color choices!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the other pattern as well. Wonder if it is still available on the group?? If that is maroon and grey, it would look lovely here... our school colors you know :o)
Hugs! Glad you found some mojo today
Glad to hear that you got your mojo back!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Orca Bay finish!! the border option you chose works much better than Bonnie's - just don't tell her that I said so! ;-)
I don't think I'll be doing Orca Bay any time soon, but the Maltese star looks doable - I'm off to find the pattern....
Orca Bay and Maltese Star are both gorgeous! I love that you used the darker units on the inside of the border. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Orca Bay but it sure is a beauty. I love the colors you picked out!
ReplyDeleteGlad the extra day off got your creative mood going again. Great progress. There should be three day weekends more often!
ReplyDeleteYour Orca Bay and Maltese Star are great. Your colors are wonderful. I really like the colors for the Maltese Star quilt. It's hard to keep the Mojo going when life is stressful. Taking time off to play with the kids and read and relax must have done you alot of good.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your mojo back! Both of your quilts are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBoth Orca Bay and Maltese Star are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous quilts! Love that flying geese border on the Maltese Star!
ReplyDeleteYour Orca Bay is amazing! I skipped this mystery, but I wish I hadn't. I'll be making it at some point! Looks like you're as busy as always!
ReplyDeleteAmy...it has been forever since you posted...we miss you in blogland. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the tops done! Looks like someone else has life in the way right now of the quilting room. I only made it to my room twice, the entire month of February! Come on, one more week, and I should get in some serious sewing time.
ReplyDeleteGlad your mojo kicked in - may I have it back now please LOL - Just kidding! I love your Orca Bay - the borders are really cool!!
