Kathy posted about Sunday handwork; this evening while walking up the basement stairs (after hanging clothes outside) I spied my cross-stitch bag (with a layer of dust on it).
After sorting through it and blowing off all the dust and wiping off all the cobwebs, I figured I could do a little handwork and finish up this little horse that Cassie started a couple of years ago; wanting to make a Christmas present for her cousin Lindsay. I really forgot how enjoyable cross-stitching is; and VERY easy!
It's almost 11:00 PM and I'm still going strong; a cup of tea is brewing/steeping and I have the Matrix Revolution playing in the background. Two little girl voices keep giggling upstairs (Cassie has a friend spending the night), so there is plenty to keep me entertained for the next hour or so.
The "sleepover" is the wrong term, lol, very little sleeping ever seems to happen
ReplyDeleteMakes a nice change to do a little cross stitching
This was my first crafting love! I used to do it every night while pregnant with my first and then when the kids were little. Have all the supplies and do a smidge now and then!
ReplyDeleteCounted cross stitch -- so fun. Glad you found some hand work to play with while the girls sleepover.
ReplyDeleteOh cross stitch, how you torment my eyes. :) I never picked up on it but I sure have some fabulous work my oldest did for us.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to rediscover something we love to do.
I haven't cross-stitched in years - I know I have some unfinished projects hanging around. I bet your daughter will be very happy to see the finished piece.
ReplyDeleteI had to giggle when I read your post about the dust and cobwebs. That's exactly how I found my blackwork embroidery project. Cross-stitch was another of my hand projects years ago.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that you are getting some UFO's finished! So fun to see cross stitch appear on the hand work linky!
ReplyDeleteI am very tempted to buy a cross stitch pattern at one of the shows. I loved doing it when my children were young. Maybe this year at the Knit & Stitch show I will treat myself to one.
