Jamestown Landing - flimsy!

Oh! The gems we find when working with scraps!
This one certainly was a fabric of Grandmother's;  I certainly wasn't sewing in 1991 :)

My "handwork" today consisted of de-papering twenty 8"x11" string blocks for the borders of Jamestown Landing.  (Is that considered "real" handwork?) :D

AND LOOK!!!!!!!!!  After spending most of the day with strings, the border is finished!
Jamestown Landing (84" x 97")

AND, I even managed to find enough string varieties of "teal/aqua" for Angela's August Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

I don't know if I'm "done" for the day, or not.  Hmmm......we'll see.

  2. WOW! Jamestown looks amazing. Just the inspiration I needed after figuring out that I STILL need 324 more HST units! I hope you are still going strong, I am ready to start on lesson plans for tomorrow:( I hope you sew into the wee hours!

  3. Oh they both look wonderful! I am going to go sew today, it has been 12 days since I have been up there. It is sewing time for me. I might have to check out that Jamestown pattern, and see what I have to do that one in a leaders and enders kind of project. little string blocks I like. I just don't like the big ones, they bore me too much. But I love stars, lots of stars. Still working on Orca bay too.

  4. A very productive day! That does indeed qualify as hand work, although not usually considered one of the fun types! Thanks for linking up!
