First of all....
YES! The beach time was fun! and YES, the girls were happy about it.
We are now back (no pictures this time), and I see that all 7 of my green bean jars sealed; the first of the season!
The three rows pictured on the right of this picture were planted earlier than we normally do. But with the warm Spring we had, we thought we'd plant SOME beans at that time and cross our fingers. Obviously, they all did remarkably well, with LOTS of tender loving care during the first few weeks.
The far left row, and all four of these rows in the upper garden.....
.... were planted during Memorial Weekend (the typical Wisconsin planting time), and they will be reaching full production early next week (I'm predicting). LOTS of blossoms and even some small bean sprouts showing up.
But those earlier plants.......they have reached full bloom and early harvest.
And so the fun begins! The tools were pulled out of storage, given a good rinse, and then they were put right to work.
Only 7 pints this morning; but by next week.....oh boy! I'm predicting loads of beans! I can't wait :D

Ah, the fun begins. Even if you are tired of beans when they hit their peak in a couple of weeks, I am sure you will be enjoying them all this winter when you aren't having to buy vegetables at the store. They look so tasty! Enjoy.
I'm envious of your vegie garden. Still in winter mode here. I'm preparing beds and slowly getting organised although I think it will be another month before I attempt to plant anything much. Still to cold at night for quick germination - but I can't wait. How do you preserve your beans?
Do you can them in a pressure canner? I've only ever frozen veggies.
Oh the joy of living somewhere you can have a garden. I can't wait till I get to Utah!
Your garden looks wonderful! You will be up to your elbows in beans soon. I don't know about you but I am so happy with myself whenever I open a jar of green bean goodness. :)
Your garden is beautiful Yes, you will be up to your eyeballs in beans soon and be tired of canning them but just think how good they'll be later on when they are out of season. Good job.
Beautiful garden and love the bean shots! I wish mine were that productive this year. You may be sick of them in a couple of weeks but will love opening them up this winter.
