After 6 hours of sun -n- fun yesterday, many bodies around the house are slow-moving this morning. Nephew Zach and hubby Paul were up at 5:30 raring to go mentally self-talking to each other to hit the lake for some early morning fishing.
I rolled out of bed with them to make some muffins and coffee. By the time they left at 6:00, I was looking over blogs and then decided to hit the sewing room until the rest of the house decided to wake up.
I started tearing into the blue scraps with Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge in mind. I have SO MUCH BLUE! 1.5" strips, 2" strips, 2.5" strips, 3.5" strips----cut, cut, cut, organize, organize, organize. I cut for two different patterns at the same time! One is Mary's Framed Rectangles and the other is from the Quiltmaker magazine, and for the life of me, I can't remember what month (I THINK July/Aug or Aug/Sept 2012) {you can see it above right in the pic}.
By the time 8:00 rolled around, I had everything cut for Framed Rectangles and was able to piece the 8 "Block A" units. The prep time for all the cutting was so worth it to have the speedier organized piles.
I also took time to accomplish Step 2 of the QOV Mystery 28: Star Path. We needed to mark the red squares along the diagonal, so I pulled out my rarely-used chalk marker. It worked quite slick. Also, 20 4.5" HST pieced.
It's 8:30, and some of the house is moving right now. LOTS of red faces, legs and arms! Some sore arms from tubing. Some of the family really got beat up yesterday :s
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for Round #2!!!! It appears like it'll be muggggggggy today! 78 and humid already; like breathing through a wet wash cloth.
Happy Sunday.

Looks like your mojo is definitely back girl. And it sounds like everyone is having fun.
Enjoy!
I just rolled out of bed, got the ribs in the oven, cleaned up the kitchen and am sitting down to more Downton Abbey and my coffee and yogurt! I dream of being the person to want to get up and make muffins early..LOL. They are lucky to have you!
