I'm tired; but the end is near

It's one of those times of one of those days of one of those weeks.....

I'm tired

The girls have been fighting fevers of 99-103, on-n-off for the past few hours (Caitlyn) and days (Cassie). No real "sickness" (yet)----just crazy, insane fevers.

I'm stressed

Having to prep for an unexpected day (tomorrow) was/is hard when I'm already stressed trying to prep for two planned absences (Thursday and Friday). I am now down to one prep time to plan for the end of one quarter where I'm missing two days AND the start of a new quarter with 50 new students---it would be different if I could get in to school on Sunday after returning from State Volleyball on Saturday, but.....NO CHANCE......

I'm tired

oh wait. I already said that.

*sigh*
I'm off to bed.

Two and a half finishes!

Today was a mix of quilting and unexpected-change-of-plans-veggin'-with-no-need-to-rush day.

When I made my goal list last night, I failed to remember that I had Volleyball tonight, so I wasn't able to accomplish all of it.

But, Candace's Stars is complete. No final pics yet though. July finish #1

The Pinwheels and Prairie Points also saw a complete finish. July finish #2
Linda (Lines and Loves) also finished up her version of it and posted it tonight. Be sure to take a peek at hers as well.




The "half" finish is these two rag quilts that I've had sewn together for about a month, but the cutting has been waiting, and waiting. So, while talking to my MIL on the phone last night, we worked out a barter--I have a quilt top of hers awaiting quilting, so her "fee" for me doing that will be for her to snip the rags. They will then be given (donated) to my mother's church's Baptismal blanket program.


OH! AND, I have three PIF projects freshly completed as well, but not yet ready to be mailed out to the recipients.

Nancy (Patchwork Penguin) has chosen #9 as the July UFO Challenge. Yeah!!! It's my wafer cookie quilt! THIS one shouldn't take too much to finish up, but if I recall, the reason I was hung up was because I couldn't "see" a layout I like with all the blocks I had. Here is the first post I had regarding the Wafer Cookie quilt, and here is the possible layout I had in mind.

Pay it Forward, 2009!

Just taking a few moments to check in, and WOW! In my email was a comment regarding the PIF, 2009.

Grandma Shell (as she calls herself) has decided to be my third person to receive a handmade item from me, and in return will share her talents by making gifts for three individuals who decide to play with her. Grandma Shell is a newcomer to me, so I am looking forward to getting to know her :0)


My day has consisted of quilting, trip to LQS, quilt designing on computer, and then more quilting/piecing. Camera is still downstairs and I'll upload/update my day in a bit more detail later tonight or tomorrow.

Pay it Forward, 2009!

With the Christmas Cheer still strong in my being, I have decided to join the "Pay It Forward" fun with Carol (at the Cornfield Quilter; and she with Lurline) so if any of you would like to join me, leave a comment to join. There is room for three of you! Come and join the fun!!

Lurline (Carol's "leader") is going to send Carol and her other participants one handmade item sometime in the next 12 months. Carol, in turn, will send one handmade item to each of the three participants who signed up with her (I'm one of them), withing the next 12 months. I, in turn, will send one handmade item to each of you (MY participants). YOU, in turn, will send out a hand-made item to each of your three participants, and so on.

I know how busy life can be, but please consider sharing some of your talent with the rest of the world. Mathematically speaking (you KNEW this was coming --- hey I'm a Math teacher!)......here's the number of people to be "affected" with the Pay it Forward....

Level 1: I give to three (3 ppl affected)
Level 2: Each of you three give to three NEW people (9 NEW ppl affected; 12 total lead from my saying "yes")
Level 3: Each of those 9 give to three NEW people (27 NEW ppl affected; 39 total)
(one more line, grabbin' a calculator)
Level 4: Each of those 27 give to three NEW people (81! NEW ppl affected; 120 total--just for saying YES!)

What a beautiful example of exponential growth!!!!
