Family and a 'home' visit

Reunion Siblings, 2015
Reunion weekend brought me to the homestead.  Saturday morning began overcast, drizzling and gloomy, but cleared up perfectly with light cloud cover by reunion time.  The size of the party was smaller than in the past, but still relaxing and fun to catch up with family members (immediate and extended).  There really is something about getting older and becoming more appreciative of family.

In fact, how much do I love my family?  (specially, my sister?)  Knowing I'd be seeing my sis, Cassie and I spent Friday morning picking strawberries from the patch in order to make up a couple batches of strawberry jam.  For my sis.  She loves it!
just a quick taste from the bowl scrapings :D
An ongoing observation with the girls is how TALL they are all getting;  Dad is 6'6" after all.  ;)  Aunt Jenny is getting dwarfed, certainly.

I don't always make a stop at Hancock Fabrics when visiting 'home,' but on a whim, I drove into the parking lot at 7:20 last night, and left by 7:40.  How's THAT for a quick stop???  These fabrics simply leapt off the shelves.  I can't wait to brainstorm a top.  Bonnie's Pineapple Blossom may be on my list (again!).  Love that pattern.  Or Jared Takes a Wife.  ?
AND -- the best part of this purchase.... it essentially was FREE.  After coupons, sales and gift cards, this $100.00 purchase dwindled to $0.00!  As Andee said on FB -- "Score!!!"

Hancock keeps CALLING to me.... !

Alright... so remember the other day when I showed you my shopping cart of Hancock?....
Of COURSE I didn't hit submit.  That's just silly.  I hover over the "submit" and then think....."Really, Amy?  You have enough fabric down there to use up first.  Get busy scrapping away!"

While sitting and enjoying the caramel corn last night, I cleaned up emails, and saw THIS sale from Hancock...

15% off!  That would result it a decent savings with the load *I* had in the cart....
So, logging back in to Hancock....enter promo code DEALS15E, and ...... hover over the "submit" button again.
"Amy!  Really!?!?!  Think of what ELSE you could do with that $120;  you realllly don't need any fabrics.  Jeesh already."

Alright, so ... I let it go again.  Logged out.  And didn't think any more of it.

LOL....
and now..... reading through emails this AM, I find....

For the love of Pete!!!!!!!  It's like they KNOW they're tormenting me.

Time to go sew so that I don't hit the submit button!  Let me at least earn any potential purchase by burning through other fabrics of mine!

HancockFabrics.com - I hadn't visited in a while...

Thanks to Lori's suggestion of seeking out a paper version of the 9-degree wedge on Hancock Fabrics website (which was already too late of a suggestion since 80% of the wedges have been cut with my measurements already...), I took a little bit of time to peruse around the cotton sales pages...

The visit started innocent enough, a couple of yards to replenish my purples and greens....

Then a few more.......

but I needed more oranges, right?????.......

And all those additional greens and purples made their way in the cart as well.....

LOL!!!!!!
I haven't submitted yet.
Nor will I (most likely)

Have any of you done this too?   Filled up a cart, only to never submit the order???

Admit it, .... you KNOW you have.

Alright, time to hit Celtic Solstice, Part 2 for a little while.  Happy Friday!

Shipped goodies

My Hancock Fabrics order arrived today!!!  So much purdy stuff!  Can you believe that this is my first fabric purchase of the WHOLE YEAR?!?!??!?  {{I'm not counting the few yards I needed to purchase for the Diamond Fields border this summer)  I mean... this is my first actual "no-real-purpose-to-buy----just-want-to-buy-cuz-it's-purdy" purchase!  Definitely a record!!!  Mind you, those pink and green fabrics will be used in the Hawaii Sunset blocks.

And look what else was confirmed via email today!!!!!!

Wooo-hooooo!  I am keeping Wednesday night WIDE OPEN!

Also, after my whole "I didn't do any schoolwork all weekend" goal comment last night......
... my day today....was Just Fine.  AND my prep time allowed for me to get the next THREE days scheduled in.  So... I'm doing well on my "leave school-at-school" goal. :)

A SALE!!!!!! How will I EVER resist???

Oh crud!

When I finally came out of my slumbering stuppor from yesterday (YES! I actualy slept until 6:04 today!!!!!), I thumbed through the mail on the counter. My Hancock Fabrics flyer arrived.....

I don't have a Hancock store near me, but there is one in the town I grew up. I often make a lil' stop everytime I head "home" to the parent's house...

Well folks, guess where I'm heading Thursday afternoon to help set up for a weekend family reunion??????

Crapola! And I JUST got back into the BLACK with my stash reporting!!!!!!!! {but how can I REALLY resist all those sales???}

Off to the dentist shortly for a Cassie-cavity appointment. That poor girl has inherited my TERRIBLE luck with teeth. FOUR CAVITIES at the checkup last week! That was the worst I had as a child too. And it's NOT because we don't brush----I simply have BAD, THIN teeth that don't want to be healthy! **sigh** At least she doesn't seem to mind the dentist yet; must have something to do with the lil' gas they offer her. WISH I had that growing up!!!!!

Okay---and this weather!!!! It's suppppppposed to be sunny and nice today!!!! We (humans AND plants) need a break from the dreary overcast, rainy days; we've had a stretch of ELEVEN of them! Looking outside at the moment; GRAY! Not rainy, but no sun either. Tomorrow is going to bring more rain, so I really want the day to be nice today so I can be out in the garden. If not, the garden won't be touched again until returning Sunday from my parents. :0( It really needs a good tilling after our lovely watering from heaven over the past week.

And then of course, there is also grouting the tiles on my to-do list. But that may wait until tomorrow before heading out to Mom's.....
