I'm done with the Chicken Stock now, too

14 preserved quarts
10 (to be) frozen containers: 1.5 quarts in each

Chicken dumpling soup in the winter---with 'real' stock.  Oh yea :0)

Going on coffee......

LOL.  Just made up a fresh pot of coffee!  It sounds good on this LOVELY overcast, COOL, low humidity day!
Now that Jamestown Landing has been finished, it was time to face the kitchen!

I never made up the chicken stock yesterday as originally planned because once Paul & Cassie finished butchering the meat birds, he said he was "done!" and wanted to take the boat out.  Fine with me :)

But today....the chickens are calling!

He's working away at processing the meat, and I'm working on prepping things for the stock.

Not to mention the amazing Ferris Wheel ride that this lucky one is enjoying!!!!  Hey, we only give the BEST treatment to our birds!

Knock Knock... [update]

Who's there?

Bean.

Bean who?

Bean awhile since we've had a harvest like this!

And we haven't picked the upper garden yet!!!!
Yup...I know what my day consists of; and it's not the Sewing variety of handwork!

At least it's mostly cloudy out there....

And what is Paul doing today? (his 41st Birthday, might I add :-) )

He's butchering the meat birds.

10:20 AM Update:
Mental note:  We do not need 103 bean plants next year
If we get a bean harvest like this every three days for the next week or so.....
OMGoodness!  We'll be eating beans at every meal until NEXT year's harvest! :-)

Happy Sunday!
